Kids’ Rules for Online Safety

  • I will not give out personal information such as my address, phone number, or the location of my school without my parents’ permission.
  • I will talk with my parents to set up rules for going online. We will select appropriate areas for me to visit and the length of time I can be online. I will not access other areas without their permission.
  • I will never send anything, including my picture, to someone I meet online without first getting permission from my parents.
  • I will not agree to get together with someone I meet online without permission from my parents. If my parents agree, I will bring my mother or father along.
  • I will tell my parents right away if I come across any areas that make me uncomfortable. I will not respond to any messages that are mean or inappropriate.
  • I will not give out my Internet passwords to anyone (even my friends) other than my parents.
