The American Library Association has announced the award winning books and audiobooks for children for 2012, including the Caldecott, Newbery and Coretta Scott King awards.

Preschool storytime introduces children ages 3 to 5 to books and reading through stories, songs and finger games.

TumbleBooks, a collection of animated, talking picture books, is now available at SLKIDS.org.

Just click on the link below to access great stories for younger children that integrate the printed word with animation, illustration, music and sound.
Stories to Go: Logo and text Stories to Go
Stories To Go is a unique collection at Siouxland Libraries. Designed for three, four, and five-year-olds, each Stories To Go bag has everything you need for your own preschool storytime.

While these story bags are available to any library patron, parents, teachers, and day care providers will be especially interested in checking out these materials.
Prairie Pasque / Prairie Bud Logos Prairie Pasque and Prairie Bud 2011 winners
The 2011 winners of the Prairie Pasque and Prairie Bud Awards have been announced.

Mail Harry to the Moon by Robie Harris was selected as the winner of the 2011 Prairie Bud Award. Bodies from the Ice by James Deem was selected as the winner of the Prairie Pasque Award.

Preschool Storytime, a weekly program of stories, songs, finger games, activities, and films for 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds, will be held at eight branches of Siouxland Libraries in January and February 2012...
